The new and revolutionary heavy-duty alt-az mount recently introduced by Sky-Watcher represents a significant improvement over previously available AZ mounts. It is in a category of its own. It features a heavy-duty precision CNC machined body, dual-parallel telescope attachment points employing a standardised Sky-Watcher/Vixen dovetail mount, and two exceptionally smooth and stable, manually articulated axes of motion. This allows the user the ability of operating two telescopes at the same time - great for sharing the skies with others! In addition, it is made with an attractive glossy black powder coated finish and chrome accent pieces, which highly compliment the appearance of Sky-Watcher Equinox PRO-Series telescopes. The mount extends to a maximum height of 158cm and the maximum recommended loading would be an Sky-Watcher Equinox-80 OTA mounted on both sides.

“The new SupaTrak™ mount shares more than a passing resemblance to the Celestron SLT, but the somewhat quieter and heavier duty SupaTrak sports a more robust Vixen-style dovetail clamp…. I found that the SupaTrak was capable of following a celestial object at high magnifications for tens of minutes before slowly drifting out of the field of view, which is perfectly adequate for visual use or simple webcam imaging…. If you are looking for an intuitive and far less intimidating user experience than that offered by cheaper GoTo mounts, the SupaTrak is highly recommended as a versatile grab-and-go system.”

The SupaTrak mount is a lightweight mount, suitable for small telescopes; it is easy to assemble, align and use...A particularly strong point is the sturdiness of the mount...There is no excessive vibration...Controls and slew rate are excellent.

"A precision instrument that breaks the stereotypical Dobsonian mold to deliver stunning planetary and deep-sky performance in a compact, readily transportable package."
"The upper section of the FlexTube containing the secondary mirror assembly and Crayford focuser extends with effortless precision on three rods that are easily locked into position at their greatest extent. Despite repeatedly collapsing and extending the instrument in the course of an prolonged observing session, the FlexTube's optics remained in perfect alignment."
"It would be easy to pigeonhole the 305mm FlexTube as an innovative, transportable Dobsonian for the deep-sky enthusiast, but it's much more than that. Its stunning planetary prowess will have many observers redefining what short focal ratio Newtonians are capable of."
"Having used a wide range of Sky-Watcher Newtonians over the years, I've often expressed my pleasure at the the consistency and precision with which the mirrors are polished and figured. In my Astronomy Now review of this instrument's predecessor, the Skyliner-300P, I wrote of its enviable optical performance for the price. I didn't think the 305mm FlexTube would surpass it, but it does."
"Saturn is often described as the jewel of the Solar System, but to see it in all its 24-carat splendour you need a 12-inch FlexTube. In recent memory I haven't seen such a sharp and richly rendered image of the ringed planet as that delivered by the 305mm FlexTube on the night of April 8th, 2008."
"I was able to use the 305mm FlexTube on a wide variety of celestial objects under what passed for fine observing conditions from my heavily light-polluted suburban locale. Messier 3, the stunning globular cluster in Canes Venatici, was resolved into a ball of innumerable stars, some held with direct vision right across the core. Messier 82, the starburst galaxy in Ursa Major, easily revealed mottled dusty filaments across its nucleus. Edge-on galaxy NGC 4565 in Coma Berenices showed the dust lane along its slender form. And so the list went on."
"Mars, just 6.6 arcseconds in diameter, revealed its 90% gibbous phase with ease. But what surprised me was plainly identifying the Syrtis Major near the planet's meridian at such a distance from Earth."

“Its sharp optics and relatively small central obstruction (35mm = 27%) ensure that it delivers bright, diffraction-limited images…. can view a true field of in excess of 2°…. will give you memorable views of the Moon and bright planets…. In short, it’s a great all-rounder in its class….The new SupaTrak™ mount shares more than a passing resemblance to the Celestron SLT, but the somewhat quieter and heavier duty SupaTrak sports a more robust Vixen-style dovetail clamp…. I found that the SupaTrak was capable of following a celestial object at high magnifications for tens of minutes before slowly drifting out of the field of view, which is perfectly adequate for visual use or simple webcam imaging…. Review of Skymax-127 OTA
“…Optically, all the lenses are multicoated and the internal baffles had no shiny surfaces that could cause reflections of bright objects…The Focuser was quite smooth with very little image shift…The field was sharp across 80 percent of the view…We were pleased with the quality of the view even when pushing the telescope to higher magnifications…Mars and Saturn bore high magnifications well…The rings of Saturn appeared sharply defined…Turning to the Moon, it was a revelation through the Skymax…This telescope certainly does a good job on the more detailed Solar System objects…In the deep sky, the Skymax performed well on everything to galaxies to nebulae”

Precision Computerised GO-TO Mount!!
“Compared to our own 250mm f/5 Newtonian reflector, the extra light gathered by the Explorer-300P was obvious. We got impressive views of a wide range of celestial objects. Galaxies such as M65 & M66 in Leo were wonderful, with strong hints of subtle detail along their spiral discs. The nearby galaxy NGC 3628 also stood out well. Nebulae shone against the background sky. M1, the Crab Nebula, showed varying degrees of mottling and scalloped edges – very satisfying indeed. The Orion Nebula, M42-43, was awash with nebulosity and we found we could easily get lost amongst the detail.. At its centre, the Trapezium group of stars sparkled and, at the highest magnifications , we spotted several of its fainter mag. +10 stars, even though the atmosphere wasn’t as steady as we would have liked for such high-magnification views. Detail Explosion: Late into the night we selected the globular cluster M13 from the hand-controller. As it swung into the field of view it was breathtaking, with swarms of stars looking like bees around a honey pot. The view was so good that we noticed a dark feature, commonly known as the Propeller, superimposed on one side of the cluster. It was easily the best view of the cluster we’ve ever had….For crystal clear views of deep space, this is hard to beat!”

F/900 Fluorite ED Apochromatic Refractor Telescope
The Equinox 120 is the star of the Equinox Series. Its generous aperture makes it an ideal observing instrument for solar system and deep space objects alike – and it really shines on double stars. For astrophotography, the Equinox 120 features an f/7.5 focal ratio – more than speedy enough for today’s sensitive CCDs and digital SLR cameras. Plus, it can be coupled with a common SCT focal reducer to achieve even faster speeds.
Its high-power views are stunning. Consider these comments elicited by the Equinox 120 at a recent star party. Saturn was being viewed at 180x: “This is the view of Saturn that I have been waiting all my life to see” Brian D., an amateur astronomer with 30 years of experience.
For experienced observers and novices alike, the Equinox 120 delivers remarkable and memorable views. It has the perfect configuration of aperture, focal length and focal ratio to make it a general-purpose telescope that can be used for everything from widefield viewing to high-power planetary imaging. It may be the only telescope you will ever need, and one of the finest you will ever look through in this aperture class.
Standard Features:
