  • Sir Patrick Moore CBE FRS"I have used a great number of telescopes; some are good, some mediocre and some bad. To me the Sky-Watcher range of instruments are very good indeed, and suited to amateurs of all kinds – and they are not priced out of the market! Excellent value.
    Use them and enjoy them."
Sir Patrick Moore CBE FRS (1923 to 2012)
  • Ade Ashford Says..."Having tested and reviewed a wide range of astronomical telescopes over the last couple of decades, for me there's one manufacturer that's risen above the rest in terms of delivering a coherent range of uncompromising, well-conceived designs, embodying consistently good optics and sensibly engineered mounts at very competitive prices — that's Sky-Watcher!!"Ade Ashford BScAde Ashford has tested and reviewed astronomical equipment in a professional capacity for several publications, including Sky & Telescope, Astronomy Now & BBC Sky At Night Magazine.
The highly affordable Sky-Watcher ASTROLUX allows the younger user to take their first steps into the fascinating world of astronomy. Although similar to many other beginner's reflector telescopes on the market, the Astrolux is supplied with superior 1.25" eyepieces and accessories (not 0.96" or hybrid 1.25") and moreover, the eyepieces have been specially selected to give a much more useful and practical range of magnifications (which are not unrealistically too high!) to enhance your viewing experience. The telescope can be freely moved in both horizontal and vertical axes and is equipped with a micro-adjustment elevation control. Suitable to view the Moon, stars and bright planets and other night sky objects.
  • Magnifications (with optics supplied): x28, x56, x70, x140
  • Highest Practical Power (Potential): x152
  • Diameter of Primary Mirror: 76mm
  • Telescope Focal Length: 700mm (f/9.2)
  • Eyepieces Supplied (1.25"): 10mm & 25mm

SKY-WATCHER DELUXE MIRROR COATINGS
Most reflectors today usually have a coat of aluminium as the mirror surface and then an overcoat of silicon monoxide or silicon dioxide to protect it. Silicon dioxide produces a much more durable coat than silicon monoxide but requires specialized equipment to apply it and is therefore more expensive. Protection is needed, because in most reflectors, the mirror is open to the elements and deterioration of the reflective layer reduces the resolution of the telescope.ALL Sky-Watcher reflectors are Multi-Coated with Silicon Dioxide as standard for Optimum Durability and Long Term Performance.
