Equinox ED Apochromatic Refractor Telescopes

  • Sir Patrick Moore CBE FRS"I have used a great number of telescopes; some are good, some mediocre and some bad. To me the Sky-Watcher range of instruments are very good indeed, and suited to amateurs of all kinds – and they are not priced out of the market! Excellent value.
    Use them and enjoy them."

World Exclusive Co-Branding Agreement with Schott

Selected high-end Sky-Watcher telescopes benefit from the inclusion of Schott glass in their construction. Schott is the recognised world leader in glass utilised for precision optical lens systems, including medical instrumentation and famous brand camera lenses. Sky-Watcher’s parent company signed a worldwide exclusive telescope co-branding agreement with Schott in March 2008.

Schott glass is currently present in the EVOSTAR-ED APO Refractors, the SKYMAX-150 & 180 PRO Maksutov-Cassegrains, EQUINOX ED APO Refractors and the EXPLORER-190MN PRO Maksutov-Newtonian

EQUINOXTM ED APOCHROMATIC REFRACTORS
(with Dual-Speed Crayford Focuser)

Sky-Watcher is pleased to introduce a Special Edition of their renowned ED Apochromatic refractors.  The same First-Class optics as used in the Evostar-ED PRO models are now housed in tube assemblies of even higher quality.
The Tubes are Precision CNC machiend & Hard Anodized and feature superb Rotatable, Tension-Adjustable Dual-Speed Crayford focusers and Retractable Dewshields. These are exceptionally high Performance telescopes for Planetary and Widefield Deep-sky observations as well as Astrophotography and CCD imaging.  Additionally, these telescopes provide outstanding results for Birdwatching and general terrestrial use.

Exquisite State-Of-The-Art Optics

Built with two-element multi-coated air-spaced objectives, the second element is made of the highest-grade extra-low dispersion (ED) Japanese FPL-53 (Equinox 80) and FPL-51 (Equinox-66) glass.
Extra-low Dispersion glass allows the optical designer to virtually eliminate chromatic aberration (false colour fringing around bright objects), which results in higher resolution and superior contrast in the images.
Each objective lens is finished by hand by skilled opticians and the quality of each telescope is monitored by means of a Ronchi test and an Artificial Star Test. No effort is spared to reach optimal optical quality.

Whether your interests are primarily Visual Astronomy, Astrophotography or Birdwatching, the Sky-Watcher Equinox ED APO refractors will satisfy and exceed the most demanding requirements. Whether used as viewing instruments or telephoto lenses, they are unsurpassed for mechanics, portability and quality of image.
